Machine Learning Engineer

The role

Our client is a Series B AI business building products for large enterprise customers. The machine learning team works closely with product and platform engineering, and the emphasis is on applied work rather than research for its own sake.

You will own models and evaluation from early prototype through to production, including the parts that are less glamorous: data quality, monitoring, cost and failure modes.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy machine learning models in production.
• Design evaluation sets and measure model quality over time.
• Work with platform engineers on training and inference infrastructure.
• Improve data pipelines and feature quality with the data team.
• Explain model behaviour and limitations to product and commercial colleagues.

What we are looking for

• Commercial experience shipping machine learning to production.
• Strong Python and a solid software engineering background.
• Practical experience with evaluation, monitoring and model failure modes.
• Familiarity with modern ML tooling and cloud infrastructure.
• Clear communication and a product mindset.

What is on offer

• Base salary of £90,000–£110,000.
