An engineering leadership role in a B2B SaaS business, responsible for two product teams and the standards they work to.

The role

Our client is a profitable B2B SaaS business with a mature product and a growing engineering organisation. The role covers two product teams, around 14 engineers, and reports to the VP Engineering.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will not be expected to code every day, but you will need to understand the work well enough to challenge it.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop two engineering teams.
  • Own delivery predictable without turning the team into a feature factory.
  • Improve technical standards, review practice and incident learning.
  • Work with product and design on prioritisation and scope.
  • Recruit carefully and build a team that stays.

What we are looking for

  • Experience managing software engineers in a product-led business.
  • A strong technical background and the ability to review decisions.
  • Evidence of improving delivery and team health.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and commercial trade-offs.
  • Clear, direct communication.

What is on offer

  • Base salary of £105,000–£125,000.
  • Fully remote within the UK, with quarterly team meetings.
